Hi Ken,

Thx a lot for this honest explanation. I totally agree that joomla team made a crap job passing from joomla 1.5 to 2.5 in few monthes. I'm using joomfish too, and it seems that they are totally stuck with transition issue too.

I really hope that you'll find all the resources needed as flexicontent is offering a real plus to joomla.

But on other hand, joomla 2.5 is quite stable, and as you, we have users, and we need to do migrations asap. We cannot just "wait and see".

For me, I'll try to wait for you guys, but keep in mind that without joomla 2.5 compatible version, you are totally blocking any migration/new project. And this is a real handicap.

thx for your understanding and hoping having news from you asap. great job anyway !

mmm, i can understand the benefits of J2.5, but my next sites will still be on J1.5 for some time to come.

All the work i have put on release J2.5 version was not for my sites.

Anyway, i behind on my personal projects to reach FC v2.0 to a level to have the features of v1.5.6 and to have fixed 99% of bugs (we still have to do more testing on J2.5) and if final version does not happen at end of this week, it will be on next week.

Best Regards

of course, I would like to help.
I'm currently search to become a Joomla developper (in France) but it's difficult to find tutorials when you begin to learn Joomla API and MVC. any contact will be helpfull

now I have 3 web sites waiting to upgrade Joomla 2.5 because Joomla 1.5 will stop in a few months.

What's the plan with Flexiaccess for Joomla 2.5? Is this going to remain separate (with support for Joomla 2.5) or will it be integrated to a greater depth with flexicontent? We were looking at a Joomla 2.5 upgrade this summer, but based on this forum, I might need to reevaluate the time line. Keep up the good work guys!

Emmanuel said to announce final version on Monday or Tuesday

FC v2.0 r1167 for J1.6 - J2.5 already implements all Content Permissions of FLEXIaccess

This means that we have extended joomla ACL to support more user actions than standard 5 ACTIONS, on the content (cats/items)
Standard
-- (core.create)
-- (core.edit)
-- (core.edit.own)
-- (core.edit.state)
-- (core.delete)
Extra
-- (core.delete.own)
-- (core.edit.state.own)

Plus we implement various ACTIONs for fields:
flexicontent.managefields
flexicontent.acclevelfields
flexicontent.copyfields
flexicontent.orderfields
flexicontent.createfield
flexicontent.editfield
flexicontent.deletefield

These maybe be added to less needed ASSETs in next versions e.g. for Content types
