menu item do you mean some --quick-- (shortcut) "add menu item" link ?

or you cannot add from Menu manager ?

non shortcut, normal menu item from my main menu manager

What exactly are you doing? Does it mean, that if you cut the association of the categories adding the menu item works? Do you get an error message if it is not working?

yes, i have to cut the association in the categories to add a menu item with the categorie view.
today i found the same behavior with: if i associate article items and want add a single menu item to the article it doesnt work. when i delete the association it works

Hi, to be honest, it is hard to judge what's wrong without a link to your page, Joomla version number, FC version number and later even admin access to the page. Multi language associations are working fine with all my pages.
