it works for me. i have the category and article association deleted.

It should be ok with 3.3.1.6

you can use install via URL 3.3.1.6-hotfix
github.com/FLEXIcontent/flexicontent-cck/archive/3.3.1.x.zip

and here is list of changes / fixes since 3.3.1.5
