Catalogue view was created by saki.sk
Hi, I need to make a "catalogue" view. It should by a combination of directory view and a category view:
IT will be very nice if directory view can show also items.
Is there any way to get this?

Category 1
Subcategory 1
Item 1 field1 field 2 field3
Item 2 field1 field 2 field3
Item 3 field1 field 2 field3
Subcategory 2
Item 1 field1 field 2 field3
Item 2 field1 field 2 field3
Item 3 field1 field 2 field3

Category 2
Subcategory 1
Item 1 field1 field 2 field3
Item 2 field1 field 2 field3
Item 3 field1 field 2 field3
Subcategory 2
Item 1 field1 field 2 field3
Item 2 field1 field 2 field3
Item 3 field1 field 2 field3

Category 3
Subcategory 1
Item 1 field1 field 2 field3
Item 2 field1 field 2 field3
Item 3 field1 field 2 field3
Subcategory 2
Item 1 field1 field 2 field3
Item 2 field1 field 2 field3
Item 3 field1 field 2 field3

you can do this with directory template (for categorie)
and drag and drop your field in position

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

Sorry? Directory view does not display any items, only categories:

Category 1
Subcategory 1
ISubcategory 2
Category 2
Subcategory 1
Subcategory 2
Category 3
Subcategory 1
Subcategory 2

And Categories view display like this:

Categories: 1Subcategory1 1Subcategory2 1Subcategory3 2Subcategory1 2Subcategory2 ...
Item 1 field1 field 2 field3
Item 2 field1 field 2 field3
Item 3 field1 field 2 field3
Item 1 field1 field 2 field3
Item 2 field1 field 2 field3
Item 3 field1 field 2 field3
Item 1 field1 field 2 field3
Item 2 field1 field 2 field3
Item 3 field1 field 2 field3

I have no problem to add fields to its positions at my category template.
But I need to display items and categories sorted like in my first post.
The best way will be, if directory view will display also items and not only categories.

hello duplicate a blog template
check category_subcategories.php and category_items.php
you can move some code in sub cat in items to acheive what you want

Hello.
I have tried to copy some code from category_items.php to default_categories.php, so I have tried to modify directory view to display also items and not only categories.
But I have got many errors and not all of them solved. My PHP knowledge is only basic level.
But I have a question:
Is it possible to insert in each subcategory description some code (load a module maybe) to display items with fields in my template? Because after this, I will use directory view with description enabled and this description will be my items list.
Thank you for your help.

Hello

you can do this with the blog template:

Subcategory 1
Item 1 field1 field 2 field3
Item 2 field1 field 2 field3
Item 3 field1 field 2 field3
Subcategory 2
Item 1 field1 field 2 field3
Item 2 field1 field 2 field3
Item 3 field1 field 2 field3
Subcategory 1
Item 1 field1 field 2 field3
Item 2 field1 field 2 field3
Item 3 field1 field 2 field3
Subcategory 3
Item 1 field1 field 2 field3
Item 2 field1 field 2 field3
Item 3 field1 field 2 field3

1. Select item list ordering to be the ordering number (called "category ordering")
2. use blog template
3. edit the category layout of blog template (inside the "Display parameters" TAB) there are parameters:
-- SET to enable paramerer: (sub) Category block, at (sub-)category start
-- SET to yes "Category title"

-- Flexicontent is Free but involves a big effort on our part.
