content joomla redirect to article type

i global config in form tab you can allow one type for joomla form but that doesn't killed popup at all
use my module, after it your user doesn't use top menu, direct access with type and category autoselected is realy good for end user

i have given you an answer for a different question

my answer was a default type for
- Joomla article form, YES recent FC versions can handle Joomla article form well

so you want a default type when Flexicontent item form opens
- e.g. when it opens due to redirecting from
Content / articles / add new article

yes a configuration option for default type, for the above case does not exist !

We can
either ... add such an option
or redirect to "new item type selection screen" ...
- so you click it and item form does not open, instead you will see the item type selection screen
