It seems to me that your solution is somewhat messy ... i think

there are duplication in terms of the tags
also the approach of integration of Flexi Access is missing

I was excited to see this plugin, but it seems to me that it isn't using the Flexicontent router functions properly (and it was generating strange SEF urls on my install). Specifically, it always passes the content's slugs to the FlexicontentHelperRo ute::get[Item/Category/Tag]Route() functions instead of its ID. For example (in flexicontentlinks/flexicontent.php):
FlexicontentHelperRo ute::getItemRoute($c ontent->slug, $content->categoryslug)
should be:
FlexicontentHelperRo ute::getItemRoute($content->id, $content->catid),...

I have relied on this fact by my adaptation of the Plugin

I forgot about it - I never use it.
