we are using those functions from docman :

frontend mass submission of files for validated users
frontend submission per file for non registered users

docman create document page and publish it.

frontend editor for published documents.

flexicontent versioning could have been useful for fontend content editing

i think it possible to do this
1 every field is multi value
1 every field have specific ACL
create a "file" type
you can create a multi value file field and allow only for registred user
add a signle file field only for guest
and allow review need for gest user
that it

if i understand you think flexicontent can do this usecase by itself ?
we may make a testbed with your short workflow

in the case of mass upload of several pdf documents.
does the process you wrote can create one presentation page/article per pdf document ?

so that description, tags, categories, ratings, comments..... can also be edited on a unique dedicated page for each document.

Ah that more complexe (lol that for it i ask more explain)
no out of box user can't create multi item (article) via a multi upload pdf (you mean extract content directly in pdf content and create 1 item peer pdf ?)
maybe it can add by custom code to acheive this

with docman
from frontend a user can upload many files : pdf or images.
select : categories and tags

docman will create a webpage for each document :
  • document description (empty at first)
  • document tag
  • document category
  • document first page thumbnail
  • link to download document
this docman is working fine
but as  docman pages are a bit independant from joomla articles this brings some limitations :
  • docman tags are not joomla tags
  • joomla structured data schema cannot be applied on docman pages ...

if something equivalent can be done with your extensio,
n we will evaluate properly

(you mean extract content directly in pdf content and create 1 item peer pdf ?

docman smart search plugin extract pdf content to joomla smart search
docman does not extract content to push on the description
docman creates 1 page per item with  :
  • empty description
  • document thumbnail
  • download link
  • nice title

yep to do this you will need to add custom code (plugin) to achieve same thing
good testing
