- no fields data is deleted by upgrading,
the fields data is still in the DB
(until you edit and re-save an item !, in which case all non-assigned fields data are deleted)

- but this change was before v3.0.8,
so can you give details of what fields does not appear ?

- and it does not appear in item form ? or in item view ?

This problem was updating from v.3.0.8 to v3.0.9
when opened item form and item views, was solved
But some changes in templates ocurred so I have to check all

- do you mean that you had modified the built-in template files
e.g. you have modified "blog" template files to add fields manually ?

- built-in template files are overwritten on every upgrade

My procedure to update:

download and update to last version
jommla: Global check-in, Clear cache and Clear Expired cache
Open front web ecotonos.es
The listing " FLEXIcontent - Universal Content " is different. image width size is big. Before it had same width and down line separated items is missing. I have to search for correct this.
Opening other view of item (p.e. ecotonos.es/flora/arenales-maritimos/flo...-echinophora-spinosa ) it were missing.
I opened one for one view item layout and category layout to find asigned fields and they was in its places. When I check again all items view fine, so don't worry about it. Could be my browser, my hosting... Now go fine. Only I have to correct the image size in " FLEXIcontent - Universal Content " and down line separator
