What do you suggest as an immediate fix?
I'm no fan of patching and hardcoding, so I'd rather wait for a configuration parameter to be added.

Hello

This was added because
- it was trivial
- it is a not uncommon usage scenario !

we are creating a category just to group them in order to show them

e.g. category "left column featured"

in such a case we do not want the items to be linked via "left column featured" category
(which its usage can be privileged via ACL ...)
