Hello

that depends if link is SEF or not

if you disable SEF , then you will need:
&ilayout=othertemplate

since non SEF links alread have: ?

Hi

many thanks for your help. I used ?ilayout=othertemplate and it is working. Each of the slave sites have a custom flexicontent template for the shared items and that bit of code is overriding nicely.

Another question has arisen. I've tried the flexicontent filtering by category and that is working fine. When I try to use the search feature I have two issues. For the shared items the search results URLs have /site_content in the URL and it shows the original flexicontent category where all shared items live /10-offers.

Is there any way to return search results based on the slave site categories and include the ?ilayout=othertemplate in the URL?

Thanks

Hello

- Joomla needs to use the menu item ALIAS in SEF urls, (this does not depend on FLEXIcontent, joomla SEF urls need this)

and so the most appropriate will be used/chosen

-- if there is no menu item to a category or any of the parent categories then the last choise is to use the default menu item,
which has has alias "site-content"

-- please create menu item to point to at least the top-level categories (1 menu item for every of your top-level category)
-- if you do not want these menu items to be visible, simply create them inside "FLEXIcontent hidden menu"

Hi

I have links in the main menu linking to each of the categories however when I search these category urls never appear in the search results. The search results are also finding pages from other slave sites. We are running multiple domains using Mightysites. Would the Advanced Search Module for FLEXIcontent help with this, is there a way to restrict items or categories using that?

Thanks

Hello

1. in the search view are you using the Joomla Search plugin for categories and you get Joomla category URLs instead of FLEXIcontent?

2. i am not sure of the configuration you are using and furthermore:
i would like to Mightysites being used with FLEXIcontent, because i have not used it, so it would be good to send some access to the websites too via a PM
