Unfortunately I dont have a different host to try but I figured out that on my server the GD 2.0 is used because this is the last stable of GD. The only thing I can think of is that FC uses some GD functions that are not available in GD 2.0. Can you confirm that? And if so, what can I do about it?

Try this build for J2.5:
In this build the phpthumb was changed from v1.7.9 to v1.7.11

flexicontent.googlecode.com/file ... _r1331.zip

or this build for J1.5:
flexicontent.googlecode.com/file ... 331.tar.gz

and report back if it works
