Hello

maybe something in frontend view configuration is limit the search

1. First please go to backend search indexes
and search for the words of the PDF in both basic and advanced index

2. then make sure the text in the PDF file is text and not images showing text
3. also try a different PDF files

  • I installed fresh Joomla and Flexicontent (latest versions)
  • During configuration, I enabled "Small / Common words searchable" and "Index PDF Files" in Files tab
  • I created a new PDF type
  • I created a new File field, and:

  • When:

Not works.

And after:
  • Recalculate index
  • Active Smart Search
  • New PDF files uploaded
  • ...all this:

Not works.

Hello

when PDF indexing gets aborted due to error , then we try to create a message

enable Joomla Debug parameter in Joomla global configuration
and then edit the item that has the PDF and click save
and then you should get a message with the error

Hello

the performance and Joomla logs are not related to this

i meant
if PDF indexing is aborted a special message will appear similar to "item saved" message (just it will be warning message (yellow))

please send me a PM with super admin access to the website to review this

include in the message the item ID of the item that you are editing
