How to override Flexi Filter Module?

O need to replace dropdown on icon:

So, I tried to edit modules/mod_flexifilter/tmpl/default.php
but this file don't contains this dropdown field and I need to edit components/com_flexicontent/tmpl_common/filters.php

But this file don't contains code to replace too.

So, I need to replace code in libraries/select2/select2.js

Question is how I can override this file or edit it.

Thanks.

Hello

you need to copy all form files to be able to override that file
so start at the top files

also you do not need to tamper with select2.js

you can do things, by using its events
see select2
3.5.3 docs:

select2.github.io/select2/

Finally we will be making beter search URLS
&_fieldname=value
instead of
&filter_45=value

also you probably do need to make any overrides of tmpl_common/filters.php
- use JS on document ready event and manipulate the DOM

Is there any examples how to do it?

Hi

so the reason that you want to override is to add an icon ?

you mean just to replace the down arrow ? ! ?

Yes, I need to replace long text to little icon:

This

to this

I need to get clean user interface (as any other web developer) without extra texts, labels, strings and e.t.c.
Believe me, this is how it should looks.

Hello

Believe me, this is how it should looks.

wanted to do a cleaner interface for it
- but too many things
- i think we can do this change without addin any new configuration
(and it is little work ! to do it)

what else besides the icon change you suggest for cleaner UI for the form
