Parent category when adding new category?

When I adding new category and filtering by title - unable to know what is parent category:

i see what you mean

it could be done by adding custom JS to the search method of
select2 JS or to chosen JS , that are used on the select drop down

but will not spend time for this in near future
unless you can convince us it is really worth it

No need to do it right now, but I sure, you should add this option to FC Roadmap.

Imagine, big directory with tons of categories:

-BMW
--Wheels
--Repair parts
--Lamps
--Oil

--Audi
--Wheels
--Repair parts
--Lamps
--Oil

--Peugeot
--Wheels
--Repair parts
--Lamps
--Oil


So, when we want to add some items to Wheels category, we using filter "Oil", and get hundreds "Oil" categories.

You already implement this feature in menu item for categories:



May be it possible just to copy code in FC categories manager?

What if during search we append the parent title to the "search-matching" categories ?

What if during search we append the parent title to the "search-matching" categories ?

Or on hover of a category we show its title of parent category

I think tooltip will be enough. Same as in menu item for categories.
