Problem with display of content on front end

Hi I would like to first thank you for making such a wonderful software available for free. It is really useful. I have some problems

1. The article info such (such as date created, author, category, voting and other fields) are turning up at the top of the published articles. Normally I can turn these off from the article manager but in this case it is not working, I have turned them off in the article manager and they are still there in the actual published article. How do I turn them off so they dont display?

2. I made a new content type with certain fields and named it "database record". After filling these and publishing them and using the search function to find them and open them, the data that is filled in is not showing in the published content. It's just a blank page with only the title of the content type showing. How do I fix this to show all the fields I filled in in the frontend when published?

3. I have added certain filters to the search page linked to the main menu, I want to know if the order in which these filters appear on the search page can be changed or it is random.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hi,
For 1. and perhaps 2.: You have to go into the template settings (FlexiContent template!!!) that you are using and remove voting and the other stuff and add custom fields into the template areas!

Hi thank you very much Rooney. I have solved the first problem with this.

The second I was not able to solve. I went into the template section, I am still confused as to the difference between "item" layout and "category" layout.

In item layout I had added all the custom fields appropriately in the spots I wanted to and therefore was able to enter data into the user fields I prepared, using the article manager in the back end. Unfortunately doing a preview shows none of the fields, the published content type also does not show anything apart from the title. I dont know what is wrong. Even adding the same fields to "category view" which was empty still does not show anything in the published content apart from the title.

The item view template is for showing a single article, category for displaying a list of articles.

The link in the other post describes the process of publishing the custom fields.

I did the exact method as given in the basic FAQ.

I created a duplicate of "items tabbed" and renamed it "database record". I then created custom fields, assigned them to "database record" and then published them. Then went to the item layout and dragged and dropped the fields into the positions I wanted. Then I went to the article manager and created a new "database record" content type and filled it in.

BUT, here is the problem...
you can see in the uploaded attachment of the article manager that even though the content type field is "database record" the template shows "items-tabbed[1]". Now after noticing this I added fields to the "items tabbed" template in the items layout and now these fields are visible when the "database record" content type is published even though that should have its own template. So there seems to be some error here, the "database record" content type is somehow connected to the "items tabbed" template INSTEAD of "database record" when it comes to published item view.

Also thank you so much for your prompt replies, your support is really wonderful. Thanks
