Video in item

I am new to FC.

I would like to embed videos in the item/article, preferably through FC as opposed to adding yet another extension. These will be viewable through a typical VIDEO category blog list of items.

I was hoping to use the FLEXIcontent Universal Module to display featured items from the VIDEO category on the home page, but only show the video and have it instantly playable on the homepage, so as not to require the user to click to view the article and play the video.

Embeds audio player from shared video sites like YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Vevo, Hulu, Metacafe, etc. To use in the backend, by just copying the URL of the original video page, the video information is fetched (title, author, description) and a preview player is embedded. In the frontend the video player is embedded. The field configuration allows to control what information is displayed, as well as the player dimensions. Except for YouTube, Vimeo and Dailymotion, the fetching capability is based on embed.ly service, which is free for up to 5,000 URLs per month. It is recommended to get and enter your own embed.ly API key.

Is there a way to add a field that is not positioned in the article layout?

For example, the user pastes in the youtube ID into the video field. And then pastes some syntax, like {video}, in the Description where ever he wants the video to display.
