Hello

the category is public ?
you could give it an access level not granted to guests

but i guess, in your case, the category must be of 'public' access ?

You might have not understood me. I'm referring to the flexicontent search engine. Now searches for articles from all categories. I would like to search for the selected ones. I do not know if it is possible. If so, how to do it.

Hello

i think this should be decided according to a setting (we need to implement it)

at item type
or
at (main) category

or both

what is the "Robots" setting for the item type in your case
is it "noindex" (aka search engines should not index the page ?)

Yes. Now I understand that FC has no option in the future may be. Google may better index everything.

Hello

- it is not difficult to do this per item type !

so
since inside FLEXIcontent item type configuration we have SEO 'robots' setting
to instruct search engines to index or not to index an item type

i am thinking if our site-search indexer should use same setting or not

So i think to add new parameter in type configuration like this:

Add items of this type to search-index

1. Same as search engines (SEO robots setting)
2. Yes
3. No

what do you think ?

The above is rather little work and to be honest it is not the first time to think or discuss it

[EDIT]
of course we have "access level" settings, but really the access level is some cases not enough
