Custom date field was created by Olinad
Hi,
I'm trying to develop a custom date field for FLEXIcontent whose values are stored in a different table than jos_flexicontent_fields_item_relations. This would allow me to add "order by FLEXIcontent's date field" capabilities to my module. Is it possible to do smth like this? Would it require editing the FLEXIcontent core?

Thank you :D

hello did you see this
orchid1software.com/extensions/d ... ent-plugin
and this
flexicontent.org/forum/index.php ... =viewtopic

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

Hi,

I tried recently your AllNews Module and it rocks!! Very great work.

Why do you want to store the date field in another table?

Date field can have different formats but you can use the php or mysql time and date fonctions to have it in the format you want for the query. No?

well, date fields in FLEXIcontent are stored in the #__flexicontent_fields_items_relations (or smth similar), and they're all in the same column that isn't a date-time one. When I tried to order by that field I got an error... Was it me that did it in a wrong way, or is there a workaround?

Yes, you right, value are stored in database in format mediumtext.

But, in the sql query, may be can we use the fonction STR_TO_DATE
dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/fr/date-and-time-functions.html

To be followed,
i will make some tests too.

Bye
