Flexicontent and latest Google Maps plugin version

Hi,

I am trying to load a google map V3 into flexicontent.

The recommended maps plugin Google Maps in its latest version i.e. plugin_googlemap_J25_J3x.v3.1 loads as a system plugin and not a content plugin. Thus it isn't available in the Flexicontent field plugin selection.

I like the Google Map plugin and with its plugin before and after syntax it is possible to use with a Flexicontent field to auto load the map address based on a user input.

Is there are work around for this so this plugin could continue to be used?

Sorry, forgot to mention that I am using Joomla 3.1.5 and com_flexicontent_v2.1.1_r1792_J25_J31.

The existing flexicontent maps plugin will not load into Joomla 3.1 sites i.e. "cannot find XML file".

-- there is functionality in flexicontent system plugin that can replace a flexiconten field value or flexicontent field display HTML everywhere, this is finished, but this is not yet tested ... todo

NOW: you can do this

1. Add your plugin code like this (do not enable enable plugin trigger since yours is a system plugin)
just replace the plugin code with the plugin code that you use

The new plugin sounds very exciting.

I followed your instructions regarding the Google Maps plugin and it is now working. Tku. What confused me was the instruction in the first link that called for the plugin to be triggered which could not be done, i.e. it did not appear on the list. And as you directed me, it does not need to be triggered and works fine anyway.

Thank you also for referring me to the package of plugins in the second link and I am checking these out now.

Is it possible to initialize the "Closest matching address :" field with a value (adress) taken from the database?
