Edit Templates: Maybe an idea for the PRO version?

we use flexicontent on several projects, and have always appreciated the flexibility for more data based projects.
The layout override options there (tmpl folder in field plugins) mean a massive improvement as well, which makes almost everything possible in terms of display. The clients normally love the possibility to enter content once and have it displayed in various ways on different pages.

If I could name one downside of using flexicontent in a client project, it would be that it's very complex for the client to handle. Normally, this is due to the edit layout being very generic. While the display is so flexible, the editing layout has all custom fields placed in the second tab, with not much options for grouping the fields in a way matching the content.

What would help is to have a template for the edit layout, in which - just like on the display templates for the frontent - positions could be placed and styled and then the fields could be placed there for editing, so the client gets a purpose-matching, customised edit layout.

If you are looking for ideas for improvements, this would be my greatest wish.
The second one: a more simple image field with inline editing: upload the image and use a crop or resize tool on it before save. This would help clients to better understand the outcome of their image uploads.

But having said that, flexicontent is great and I am looking forward to the pro option to support it!

1 we will try to improve essentialy to clean code and lighter style because we will add an important feature in PRO feature, we will add a complete page builder with drag drop field and complet style system base on grape.js.
concerne, item view, category view and module view ...
2 for editing image we wait j4 new media manager, and plug on it for image edition, but only possible for folder mode not bdd
