alpha-index > generate urls per letter?

Hi there,

how can I create a sub-URL per letter for my alpha-index-equipped category page?

[details]
- I have a category page, say "/lexicon"
- the category page "/lexicon" has the alpha-index enabled, it shows letters a-z.

[requirement]
- I want -in a most comfortable way- all URLs like "/lexicon/a" to "/lexicon/z" instead of the ugly generatwed urls like "[...]/lexicon?clayout=mylayout&letter=a&cc=1234569765431"
- I want to be able to quicky rename the main URL "/lexicon" without having to manually rename all sub/URLs.

Thank you very much for any heads-up, guys! :)

Hello

1. about the letter, we could make it:
/lexicon/letter/a ... PLUS the rest of the variables
(just /letter/ should not be a menu alias inside your menu system under /lexicon/)

2. About
&cc=1234569765431

is for logged, for public is &cc=p

- probably the &cc=p should be totally missing, for non-logged users, (it is added to support proper caching, should check if it can be removed)

3. Similarly,
the other variable should not be submitted if they are the default value

The above are just thoughts, they are not implemented

Ok, I see. Great that you're open to such suggestions!
So, if it's not implemented now, how would I best fake the desired feature in the meantime? Manually would be ok.

[details]
I tried Menu > System Links > URL without success, probably because I have to include the dynamic cache-parameter "cc" (?)

Thanks!

use htaccess redirection or an sef component like sh404sef
