Add a different target directory to each image field

Hello,

Is there a way to add a different target directory to each image field ?
For now, we can only choose Media folder or Secure folder, and that all.
So, all the images are placed on the two sames places. :S
It will be more handy if we can assign the directory we want for each image field in order to sort all the images in many folders (much convenient than only in one folder (defined by Media or Secure).

Thank for your answer. :)

Regards.

in item folder mode yes
flexi create a folder for each item

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

Yes, but it is different than assign the field to just a directory.
In my example, If I have 20000 items, I don't want to have 20000 folders on the server to sort my images. :S
Then, these folders arent explicit, they are just named by the item ID and the field ID.

Is it not possible to define the directory path of each media field, and all the images of this field are placed in this folder (one folder) ?
And for another image field, we can choose another folder.
And so on.

Hello

when you select image source "Folder mode"
- then the destination folder for thumbnails, will also contain the original images

e.g
images/stories/flexicontent

e.g.
folder1/folder2

Thumbnails will be
Code:
folder1/folder2/item_45_field15/s_somefile.jpg folder1/folder2/item_45_field15/m_somefile.jpg folder1/folder2/item_45_field15/l_somefile.jpg

and original image will be in
Code:
folder1/folder2/item_45_field15/original/somefile.jpg

Yes, I know how Folder mode works, but this is not my question. :)

For now, if we enable Folder mode, we have a folder created for each item and each media field. It's good for some applications, but not for others one.

Is it possible to add a parameter in Media field : "choose your directory path"
Then, for example, we can create a media field and all the images uploaded with this field are stocked in the directory we choosed.
And for each media field, we can choose a different directory path.

In order to stock all images of this field in only one folder, rather than in multiple folders (Folder mode), or rather than in the media folder path only (DB mode).

Is there a way to implement this function ? I think & hope it's not very difficult to add this new parameter. This could greatly enhance the media files (at least for me). :cheer:

Thank for your answer.

Regards.

Hello

For now, we can only choose Media folder or Secure folder, and that all.

or if you could use subfolders inside these directories
the effect will be almost the same
