J 3.8.1 PHP 7
FC 3.2.1.4
FC 3.2.1.5

ALL of the categories in my site are inexplicably set to inherit parameters from one particular category.
Modifying existing categories isn't working as expected.
Master category parameter handling not changeable / cannot change category parameter inheritance
I have tried changing it one drop down change at a time and by changing both at the same time.
After reloading said category, changes are not updated.

Hello

if you click "Apply and reload" instead of "Apply", then can you modify it ?

After testing again, Using apply and reload appears to allow for the inherit parameters to be changed and maintained. Using Save and Close works the same.

Changing Copy Parameters to anything results in the inherit parameters to go back to the 'default' - (not use global/blank) category regardless of using apply, apply and reload, or save and close. This happens regardless of the current setting for inherit parameters.

(this may be helpful)
The 'default' category is the third (#11) after uncategorized (#2), #11 is a top category and there is one other category (#9) which is a second level category.

Hello

ok i see there is no bug

when you use parameter "copy parameters" (from another category B)
- the parameter will reset after form save (intended an correct behaviour see popup description)
- the inherit from parameter will change and it will show the value that the other category B had (you see ALL parameters are copied)

only problem is that when you use parameter "copy parameters" (from another category B)
- we need to force a form reload

so either we add some js code to do it, or we add a warning "Use Apply and reload button to save !"
