custom field linking to item view

I have a list of items (companies) in category view.
I created a custom field (company name). And some more too.
Now I can list them companies with "company name" column but the list in category view has no links. I want to be able to open item view by clicking on my "company name" custom field. This is weird how I cant do this. Btw, I disabled "item title" column in category view completely, maybe thats the problem.

you need to add the link code in your field
in prefix like <a href="index.php?option=com_flexicontent&view=item&cid=39&id={item->id}"....
and add </a> in prefix
it just a prrof need to be update with your case

Thank you, so you mean prefix and suffix. Kinda understand the trick, tho I need to figure out how to add this in my case. Not an expert on flexicontent yet:-(

you should use relation field to create links to other items

Then in category view the relation field
- not only can link to the company item
- but it can display any field of the company item too
