Hello

- For upcoming FLEXIcontent v3.2.0 (already implemented in Github repository)

The J3.7+ fields are editable and in FLEXIcontent item form
and are also shown in FLEXIcontent item / category views

Later either in v3.2.0 or in v3.2.1, we will add more intergration for them ...
Also it is a possibilty that later we will release some FLEXIcontent fields as J3.7+ custom fields

I would love to use fields for categories to add additional images. "also shown in FLEXIcontent item / category views" - should I be able to see these on the backend/front end of Flexicontent, or did I misunderstand ?

Hello

In v3.2.0,
- we added support for these fields in FLEXIcontent item form
- also they will be shown in frontend FLEXIcontent item / category view

but i made a wrong assumption about Joomla native fields
that they can be used in categories
i see now that they did not implement this

Try in a Joomla installation that does not have FLEXIcontent
you will see that fields can be used only inside articles / contacts / newsfeeds / etc
but they can not be used inside their categories ! (you can not use fields in category form)

Maybe I don't understand. Here is a fresh Joomla install using category fields (ad 1 image, ad 2 image, ad 1 url and ad 2 url) in category blog layout menu item:

For me native field are beginner
no multi value
No file field
No image field
No ordering by field
Need to code for display
Need to paid for filter

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
