Microdata for product site and title.

Hi.
Looking at schema.org, microdata and how it would apply using Flexiconent to a site that displays or sells products.

a) From schema.org "name" means the name of the product in this instance. The name of the product appears as a Flexicontent item as the "item title" and currently (that I can see) has no microdata support as a microdata "name".

The title field or text field could be used and included as the microdata "name" somehow in the template but is a little clumsy having the name of the product included twice. Not sure the best way to handle this.

b) A shop could sell many brands from many manufacturers. From schema.org the shop would be best defined as an "organization." "Organization" however isn't included as one of the options in the dropdown for microdata for the text field when the field as used as shop name.

1 yes we need to add microdata for tile
2 FLExicontent 3.0.8 already have microdata for type (itemtype) and all field (itemprops) and you can create a subtype with field group all is seo tabs
just need to adapt your personnal template

Hello

title is outputed
- either manually by the template file
- or via title field in a template position

I think that we can always use for the title:
itemprop="name"

but should we allow disabling this?
because some people may want to use a different field ? or create a custom / composite title text inside the template ?

Relevant enhancement issue (again v3.0.9 milestone)

Thanks. Itemprop: "name" for title would seem to work in all possible item types.

Yes, I think it should be able to be disabled for the reasons that you give. And also with a global microdata assignment all site articles would have this one microdata assignment even when no microdata type intended to be assigned. Google may ask for other microdata associated with it e.g. missing type? (although no evidence of this occuring yet).
