Title Composition was created by JeBy
Hi there!

I was wondering if it is possible and do-able to add an option to have a Title composition for specific Content types? Cobalt has this feature. It basically uses selected fields to add to automatically add to the title. For example, I have a content type "DVD" and I want the title to be "DVD Title: Special Edition", but I want to be able to select the Edition in a Select list (which I already have). When submitted, the item title would merge the field with the title "DVD Title" to make this title.

Keep up the great work!

Hello

do you meant that it will be stored in DB too ?

or as a automatic prefix prepended to the title ?

It would be "hardcoded" into the title but it would give the advantage of only putting accepted field values as appending or prepending strings. This is how Cobalt does it. Also note how they have an option to choose "Composite title" like you recently did with using ID as title.

Hello

you can create a text field that adds other field as prefix or suffix, using the prefix and suffix parameters

but i understand that in some cases an automatic title like you describe would be useful, since it will need less work in templates and it would make search by title easier
