select exisiting image from any directory for image field

Dear all,
For the Flexicontent image field, we can either upload new image or select existing image. But it only allow to select images that we ever uploaded which will be under the default directory components/com_flexicontent/uploads. Is it possible to select existing image from any directory and sub directory from the server for the Flexicontent image field?
Because normally we have to group images into different directories and sub directories if there are a lot of images.
