Category select in directory view

Hi, I want to use the directory view as a sitemap replacement. I am not talking about features like a xml file or so. It should be more an overview about the page.

Currently it is not possible to manually select or unselect categories. Some of my categories contain items that shall not be available, other categories have no menu item linking to them so the links in the directory view sometimes display unwanted views.

Selecting categories manually would be a nice feature!

Yes, now you select only a top-level category.

Adding multi category selection there maybe trivial to implement, but if we add note that selected categories must not be nested to each other or the display of them will get weird.

You can test using multi-category (categories) FLEXIcontent Menu item the display can be configured to be similar to directory view (not same) see this FAQ article:
