Hi,

I'd like to see an enhanced version management. I think the existing system is pretty nice but in our case, we need to be able to distinguish published vs drafted version for a document. There is no difference right now, only the "Approve version" field (if enabled) tells if a version get displayed or not in the front-end and it hard to tell from the History version list which one were published previously.

The way I see it :
1) By default, new version are draft and not published on the front-end (v0.1, 0.2, 0.3, etc)
2) The user need to set a "Publish this version" option to set the article to version 1.0, which publish it to the front-end.
3) Changes to the article gives version 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc. and again user need to "Publish this version" to have version 2.0 and so on...

You could have a security to set who can see the draft versions.

And you could also have an option to set how much draft version you want to keep, as we likely want to keep 20 major version but only the last 5 drafts.

Hello,

thanks for your suggestions,

we will examine these for a future version,

current versioning system can always be enhanced, despite being already pretty complex and having a no-where to find email-notifications system,
(Global/per content type/per category and comibined with smart usage of usergroups/users with many customization options)
