i have some idea of scope for input or checkbox
for example :

->scope category (include / exclude)
->scope field (include / exclude)

Select
->scope category (include / exclude)
->scope field (include / exclude)
->multi-selected

Checkbox
->scope category (include / exclude)
->scope field (include / exclude)
->multi-selected

etc

-- BUT instead of adding SCOPES to the search module, could we merge search module with universal module?

Meaning
a. to combine search with the SCOPEs of universal module (and other functionality) and then
b. display the results via universal module?

because it is a little tricky, since the searching mechanism marks the words found, and thus that is why we have a special search view to display the results, in a "fixed" way.
