We reach a point now that we never expected to ask for this but here it goes.

Because the title in mandatory the clients/users not always now what to put in the TITLE, example for a JOB listing category.

FC customization:
category: Jobs
Article Type: Job Opportunities
Template: Jobs Listing
Custom fields:
- Location
- Type
- Experience

Now the user can only add ARTICLES/JOB OPPORTUNITIES.

So this is what the user made:
item 1----
Title: Social Media Expert | Location: New york | Type: Full-time | Experience: Minimum 1 year
item 2----
Title: Social Media Expert | Location: New york | Type: Full-time | Experience: Minimum 3 years
item 3----
Title: Social Media Expert | Location: York - England | Type: Full-time | Experience: Minimum 3 years
item 3----
Title: Social Media Expert | Location: New york | Type: Part-time | Experience: Minimum 3 years
item 4----
Title: Social Media Expert | Location: New york | Type: Full-time | Experience: Minimum 2 years

What the user made was correct the problem that is happening is that when you list all job opportunities in the back-end in the articles menu. what you see is this:

1 | Social Media Expert
2 | Social Media Expert
3 | Social Media Expert
4 | Social Media Expert
5 | Social Media Expert
6 | Social Media Expert
7 | Social Media Expert
8 | Social Media Expert
9 | Social Media Expert
10 | Social Media Expert
...

Would be great if we could choose which COLUMNS to show in the back-end.

This way we could add the custom Field to the columns, and the result would be:

1 | Social Media Expert | New York | 1 year
2 | Social Media Expert | Brazil | 5 year
3 | Social Media Expert | Poland | 3 year
...

We have a Job listing prototype and we have 25 jobs with the same name and when we need to make a change to one article is hard to know which one it is.

What do you think.

I see, maybe we could display either
1. the RAW field values of custom fields
2. or the RENDERED values of the fields (aka creating their HTML output)

About 1: the raw values of fields are not usually meaningful since they may contain multiple parameter per value and also be multivalued too.

About 2: this would put a lot of delay on the items manager (depending on the selected fields).

Also we must note that each item type has different fields, although this, should not be a problem since we could display just an empty cell.

Also not all field are orderable but this should not be a problem either.

I think number 2 is preferable to 1 ... maybe in v1.5.7 or later

I never thought this throw, I understand what you say, if we have 25 fields, then we would have to add all does fields to the columns because they are assigned to different type of content.

Maybe only when we filter PER TYPE OF CONTENT the assign custom fields could appear :D This would be sexy.

And also I thought that 2 about performance.

The problem appear to us and I thought it may appear to more ppl.

About performance , if your item list does not exceed a few dozens of items and does not have too many custom fields then the change in performance will not be noticeable.

If you try to display hundreds of items and also include custom fields which trigger plugins then you will see a change in the delay of creating the page.

v1.5.7 beta will start immediately after v1.5.6, and may include this
