This is an cool feature, I am testing it right now, but I have only one thing to point for now, maybe you agree.

I always create 2 categories in our websites:
1 - Institutional articles
2 - Hidden Articles (not connected to any category)

Now with this new field, the client can relate articles and this 2 categories show on the Select Multiple List. Could be great if in the category we could say if this one can be related and the same to the type of content or event content by content.

This is not possible isn't it?

About Flexicontent Related items field:

1. An item will appear in all categories it exists. This is for usability reasons.

2. If you have Flexiaccess then only the categories the user is allow to use will appear

3. For installation without FlexiAccess, it would very useful to skip some categories.

3.a I will add option to skip the unroutable categories (*) :
UNROUTABLE categories are selected At the SYSTEM - FLEXIcontent advanced route plugin.

3.b Also besides the above option i am thinking now to add a new option, to select categories to skip.

(*) You can select to exclude categories from creating links (routing) to them. e.g. your homepage category or your other categories like your category "hidden articles", see here more here:

I am steal fighting with this :D

I have created 2 categories:
1 - Colors
2 - Cars

I want to use related articles like this:
When the user creates a new item as car they can select which color is related.

The problem is that I can not RESTRIC which catgories to use in the related articles, it is showing me the entire project. Imagine a website with 2000 articles, it is hard to relate like thism if you could add in the FLEXIITEM configuration which is the ROOT category that way is easy, or something like that.

I want to add to this field to make it a lot more powerful.

It is already very user friendly but lacks some configuration options, to customize behavior and appearance.

If i don't do today, i will not do anytime soon

Ok did the following to the version for v1.5.6:

+ Added: 2 Scopes (category and type), ability for subcategories for category scope
+ Added: more editing options including: Ordering and a Filter mechanism based on filterlist.js
^ Change: Clean up the layout of the parameters

I think i am mostly done with features.
