FC 4.2.1 - cannot find item although the record exists on the DB

We have noticed earlier today that an old item from 2019 started to show up on a list that is set to show only the latest X items.
After clearing all Joomla and FC caches, the item in question disappeared again.

Next we tried to locate the item via the items manager on the FC admin backend, but nothing came up.
We ran a query without filters and then a query with all possible statuses chosen (which is essentially the same, but we wanted to be sure).

Then we tried to locate the item via PHPMyAdmin using its ID and weirdly enough it was successfully retrieved.

We have never encountered this bizarre behaviour before.

Please see attached screenshots for further context.

We are running FC 4.2.1 / Joomla 3.10.12 on a pretty standard LAMP stack with PHP 8.1 installed.

maybe go to search index page (in backend) clean and purge all index to re calculate it

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

No difference whatsoever.
Purging and rebuilding the search indexes does not change anything.

We also tried to locate the item manually on the FC items manager and the item is not there, even though it most definitely exists on the DB's com_content table, as we have shown in the first post of this thread.

In the screenshoot below you can see that there is a missing item between items 3567 and 3569.
The item with ID 3568 should be listed as well.

Thanks a lot for helping with this investigation!

The plot thickens ;)

The item actually comes up on the frontend search, but it still missing from the backend item manager.
Incomprehensible.
