Hello, since few days (perhaps since flexicontent update) my website www.devistravaux.xyz/ is sometimes very slow and also the backend.
I have contacted the siteground support, see her post :

Hello Laurent,

There doesn't seem to be any DNS issues for this domain. However I went ahead and checked this website but I'm unable to replicate the slowness. I checked the statistics for it and I found a slow query generated for it which should be corrected by a web developer:

Code:
Code:
2. Executed 13h 18m 4s ago for 1.02151 sec on Database --> atelier4_devistravaux Date: 2016-11-17 23:00:37 Query_time: 1.021510 Rows_examined: 146780: Rows_sent 36695 Lock_time: 0.000159 # Schema: atelier4_devistravaux Last_errno: 0 Killed: 0 SELECT DISTINCT i.id, i.title, c.id AS cid, i.modified, i.created, i.language, CASE WHEN CHAR_LENGTH(i.alias) THEN CONCAT_WS(':', i.id, i.alias) ELSE i.id END as slug, CASE WHEN CHAR_LENGTH( c.alias ) THEN CONCAT_WS( ':', c.id, c.alias ) ELSE c.id END AS catslug FROM jv38s_content AS i JOIN jv38s_flexicontent_items_ext AS ie ON i.id = ie.item_id JOIN jv38s_flexicontent_types AS ty ON ie.type_id = ty.id JOIN jv38s_categories AS c ON c.id = i.catid WHERE 1 AND i.catid = 12 AND i.state IN (1, -5) AND ( i.publish_up = '0000-00-00 00:00:00' OR i.publish_up <= UTC_TIMESTAMP() ) AND ( i.publish_down = '0000-00-00 00:00:00' OR i.publish_down >= UTC_TIMESTAMP() ) AND c.published = 1 AND ty.access IN (0,1,1,5) AND c.access IN (0,1,1,5) AND i.access IN (0,1,1,5) ORDER BY i.title;

The slow query was generated 13 hours ago so this could be the reason for this slowness which is generated from time to time.

An idea ?

Thanks

Hello

> but this was the joomla notification plugin system !!

i see, a rare query of even 1 second can be felt like a "big slow" down

so the long waits that you experience is the delay for email server to respond and send multiple messages
- this can be 2 or 5 or even 20 seconds (every time that the plugin is triggered)

(is the above the case ??)

usually for FLEXIcontent notifications we try to send single email by using send as BCC all emails
- and we set the receiver to be the site global email
but next release will have a new parameter for a configurable "noreply-email" to be the main receiver

Also the query that you mention looks like our sitemap plugin

- unfortunately this query had been not optimized like almost all our mulit-item retrieving queries
