Hi,
the problem can be easily solved enabling multiple files again. Just wanted to note, that the behaviour of the field is not correctly anymore after an update!

the XML file was changed,
the default for "allow_multiple" was made change to "0" (= No)
- will restore it
but still this is strange,
if you had saved the field in the past then value should have been yes
