Translating an article(item) multiple times to same language

Hello,

I see that it's possible to translate an article(item) multiple times to the same language, selecting the "Duplicate Original content".

In my opinion this should be prevented by checking if there are already any associated translations for the selected language.

On our websites clients make a mess with this.
For example translating the base article in portugues and then having 5 or 6 associated article translations to english.
The correct would be a 1 to 1 association.

I'm using FLEXIcontent version 2.2.0

Please, this fix i consider very important.
Thanks!

Hello

in v2.3.0/v2.4.0 we want to convert

- FLEXIcontent tags to J3.x tags
- FLEXIcontent translation group to J3.x language associations

in this case do you mean disable "Keep source language" option ?

Hello,

I think you didn't get what I was trying to say.

I'll try to explain another way. The default language is English.
1. Select an article that is already in the english language.
2. Click translate button
3. Choose another language to translate to and "duplicate content" in number of copies place 5 for example.

So we end up with 5 translations of the english article.

Shouldn't it be 1 to 1 relation ? I don't see the need of having 1 to N relation.

Hello

so your post is about "fixing" this, by disallowing user to do this

I guess the question is that an article has more than one translation in another language. I think it does not make sense that a German article has 5 English translations...

Hello again,

Yes, like Rooney said, it's about fixing this, limit the user to creating only 1 copy of the article if no translation exists, and if already exists a translation then maybe show popup informing the user.

What do you think?

Thank you very much :)
