[Solved] Files translation

Hello, its me again..

I use flexicontent to show a list (huge list) of documents in many languages, and to do this, when I do the upload the file, I use the name and description, and choose the translation.

Many of this files, are in english for all users (PDF), but the title is different (translated), for example:

The file is the same, but the title I want to show to my user, I need then translated. Is possible?

not possible i think ...
maybe create a field to do this ...
duplicate file filed and add a texte imput for translation ?

each file has 1 language, and 1 description

(an we do not filter description through language filter, but i do't think that it would be convenient either)

don't use file description, instead create and use a text field that you will display next to the file

yes mix file => untransable + texte field o display title translatable

some time ago micker and i did a field called:
extratable

that is:
- multi-property
- multi-value
- has file selection as 1 of the properties

with little modification it can be used to do the job
(remove some properties and rename 1 or 2 text properties)


the field is now maintained by micker, here:

a modification of it
(e.g. a new field called file_extended)
maybe added in the CORE distribution in the future
