Since I use FC the System-Language Filter does not work properly. No matter what the browsers language is, always the sites default language is used in the front end even when "Browser Settings" is applied for the "Language Selection for new Visitors.".
Is this bug already known?

That language recognition in Joomla is applied on the frontpage/homepage only because the domain root is not language specific while all other links are and therefore are not switched automatically (afaik).
My frontpage links to a FC content item. I didnt test this specific website with the frontpages pointing to a Joomla native component. Could be worth a try though. But I know that other installation without FC have no problem to detect the browsers language settings.

mmm, i have not tested 100% language on J2.5,
a reason is i don't use this yet because of little more work required to setup language stuff, plus a couple of language-related components that i don't have in J2.5.
First try this to see if it is related:
Go to to SYSTEM - FLEXIcontent Advanced Route PLUGIN and disable the language switching of associated items
Close browser and reopen to retry or whatever other steps you do to test this
