Items not showing in RSS [reason: no-public access]

Hi there,

I'm trying to create a feed for my news items. When I append &format&type=rss to the end of an URL I get an XML file with all the items. But as soon as I add the feed to a RSS reader, it just says "no items". I checked the feed in W3's RSS validator, and it works just fine.

The weird thing is, it works in one single category -- and nowhere else!

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

UPDATE
I think I've localized the issue -- but I don't know how to fix it. Whenever the items are published in Public access, they appear in the feed. Is it possible to include the items that are only visible to those who are logged in?

It is possible only by changing the category model, but this will contradict the idea of being viewed only by login users, but on the other hand it makes sense to provide these items on RSS feed.

I guess a global option to allow unpublished items to RSS feed, but this is not enough then we will need to link to the login page and the we will need to redirect to the item after login.

Hi ggppdk,

It actually makes more sense (at least for what I need) to send out a new mail when there's new content. I found this old topic where a similar feature is requested, and you already replied there.

But I guess the option for a private RSS feed is still a good idea.
