Hi,
In flexicontent 1.5.4 you made some security changes, especially in php thumb functions.

It should be noted, however, that in some hosts the escapeshellcmd (used in phpthumb.functions.php) is disabled for security reasons.
Therefore, the mini gallery does not work as its images are not loaded..

There is a solution suggested here, which worked for me:
