.
I am unable to install beta5 or beta5a.

Previously installed beta4 - worked great.
Recently tried to upgrade install beta5 - errors.
So tried to install beta5a - errors.

Un-installed completely and tried to install beta5 (not as an upgrade) - errors.

So I uninstalled completely again, even deleting the remaining database templates table.
Checked for any left-over files - found none.

Installed beta4 - worked fine.
Upgrade installed beta5a - errors, failed install.

These are the errors from this beta5 upgrade install:

* JFolder::files: Path does not point to a valid folder or the folder has been deleted.
* JFolder::folder: Path does not point to a valid folder or the folder has been deleted.
* JFolder::files: Path does not point to a valid folder or the folder has been deleted.
* Error! Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package.

Unable to find install package

I have no problems installing large packages on this development server, so that is not an issue.

Server Versions:

Joomla 1.5.15
MySQL 5.1.33
PHP 5.2.9
Apache 2.2.11
Windows OS

This is making me crazy as I really want to work with beta5.

Thanks for this great extension!

Hi Ken,
That's really strange :(
Could you try two thing:
1°- Unzip the archive in you tmp directory, and run the intall through "install from directory method"
2°- Unzip the archive on your local computer and zip it with your archiving software (to be sure there's no double folder)
Hope this will function.
Cheers,
Emmanuel.

Hi Emmanuel,

Usually I have no timeout issues installing big packages on this testing server because I have the script time-out settings, etc. set rather high to prevent that from happening.
So I have never had a time-out issue since then.
A long time.

Your original beta5 distribution file does have a folder packed inside it.
You may want to take a look at that.

Earlier I did repack it without the folder.
Tried to install that once before and it died.
(May have been that I just had things so messed-up by that point.)

BUT, just now, I again tried an upgrade install of my repacked beta5a file (no component folder) - and it worked!!!

Thanks for your help and the great component.
Onward testing soldiers . . .

Ken
