Category Display - Filter Single value per line

I am using a category layout where I have Field Filters - showing as multi Toggle Buttons.

In the category I have 'Filter enclosing' set to show Record per row.

The site I am making is responsive form (scales by device display width) how can I either:
Make the category filter be responsive so the width of the display scales so it will work on a mobile device.

or show each Toggle button (value) be tabulated as a column - so only one toggle button per row.

filter form and filter module in both appearance and behavior is currently being revised extensively in both appearance AND behavior (... !)

you can see half of the work done in r1720, (also the multi-select filter appearance will now appear as a tag-like multi-selection with instant type-to-filter listing)

I have installed the latest build FLEXIcontent version 2.1.0 r1742

And the layout of search for desktop and mobile is much better now.

A question how do I change the label 'Text Search' within the orange filled label to say something else - I want it to say 'Find' see my page: tcuk.aegies.org/vacancies/vacant-positions-a?searchphrase=any

Is this a system or flexicontent parameter I can change?

The reason for needing to change is when the page is viewed on a mobile device in portrait view - the label wraps text.

A quick reply would be appreciated.

do it the joomla (J2.5+) way ...

goto joomla language manager, and then into the language overrides tab

(select frontend)

search for string "type to list"

and create a language override
