Template showing mainly fields from a related item

I need to build a template that show mainly fields from a related item.

My idea was to use the related field as reference by dropping the field in the reference layout position and then to show the required fields from the related item.

Is it an easy way to achieve that maybe by a modification of the default layout?

I am not a great php developer.

Any suggestions?

For item view,
i recommend that you use the (Current Item's) Related items Scope of Universal module and then load the module into a loadmodule field

On but i found 2 problems.

1) layout/templating is not easy to make with the module. And not wel documented. Maybe you have more infos about the module and templates.

2) I need you commit the change requested for the label of empty fields.

1. inside the mod_flexicontent folder, you can copy the tmpl/news.php file to tmpl/mynews.php and customize the HTML

Do not enable the NEW customized displayed of hits and voting because updated files external to the module are needed for this

Is this the version without the bug, that does not allow to hide all item links and only show categories?

Yes this version has this bug fixed , you can show only category information list if you wish
