alpha directory, how to add noindex follow tag

Heya,

I've added the noindex follow tag manually on some pages. Like the pagination itself. Now I've noticed all the spiders keep hitting the alpha directory links. Like for instance page38 of a category with letter 7 :O
Crazy bots like strange url's..
Anyhow maybe you guys can help me out once more.

Is there a way to add this tag to the alpha directory? Maybe by adding some php code?

All the best!
Cheers!

The file you need to change is the category_alpha.php in your template folder.
locate line:
if (in_array($letter, $this->alpha)) :

and you can do something like:
Code:
... if (in_array($letter, $this->alpha)) : if (...) { link to letter with nofollow parameter } else { link to letter with nofollow parameter } ....

Thanks ggppdk!
Will give it a try. I find it a little strange it only happens with the numbers. In google webmaster html suggestions I get duplicate title for them.
So for letter=3 letter=7 etc. But not for letter=a etc.

Do you think this is a bug?
It's hurting my seo so. If you have any more suggestions I would appreciate it. This site is live so its hard to start experimenting with the code.

hmm looking at the pages, when I hover over the alpha directory's letters its shows a # added to the url. and for the numbers it adds letter=x
So probably an easy fix will look into the code to see the difference.

Newer code of v1.5.6 will always add something to the url when cache is enabled, so that proper page is cached

yeah I like it, it's very useful, except the seo component (I don't like saying it's name lol) doesn't load it into the sef url automatically. So it gives it the standard meta title+description which causes google webmaster to complain about it.
It's all good though, it's what I wished for, just a lot of work to add them manually. I have enough coffee so
