Hello,

I am a new user of joomla and flexicontent. I have created a flexicontent template but the template I have with my home page is still the default joomla template. Do I have to disable joomla templates and how can it be done ?

Thanks

Joomla template is always needed.

--> It creates the basic html structure of your web page: the surrounding html of the component area and all module positions.

--> And also adds styling files (css) and behavior files (javascript) to further customize the appearance of all the web site.

--> and may also include custom-designed modules and plugins provided by the template author.

--> and also template overrides files that alter the behavior/appearance of components, like altering the behavior of com_search.

At the component area of your webpage many components are loaded: like com_contacts, com_search, com_flexicontent etc.

The flexicontent templates are only loaded to shape the component area of your web page, when you display flexicontent data (e.g. a flexicontent item or a flexicontent category)

Many components may utilize 'templates' to allow advanced user/developer customizations.

I hope i was very clear on this one.

Please take time to read about joomla.

Regards
