List of Favourites View

Hi there,

A simple and stupid question:

How can I customize the favourites view?

I created a menu link to flexi favourites. One particular problem is that the default layout is a table with a "description" column. This is not acceptable since "description" means the text of the article, which can be huge. So instead of a nice list of favourites I get a very lousy and disproportionate table.

On the other hand, I would like to add an "Author" column.

I have tried playing with components/com_flexicontent/views/tmpl/default.php

even deleting the line with "FLEXI_DESC"

to no avail :(

Grateful for any hints

Try this:

[attachment=0:16njqwz5]<!-- ia0 -->Favorites-View-Output-Override.png<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:16njqwz5]

Here is a link to that image so it is easier to see the full image.

Hmmmm ... probably would be a good idea to make Show Introtext a configuration item for the Favorites view.
. . . OK, so I did that . . . works in testing . . .

The author field is created_by.
I will see if I can add that as a configuration item also.

How do you want it to display?
Item Title -- Author -- Last Updated ??

Wonder if I should add some other field display options?
Such as Created Date, etc.

You can also override the parameters settings XML file.
So if you put both files in the override location it should be good to go.

Answer the questions above and I will provide the files for testing.

thanks kenmcd for your works !

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

Many thanks! I can tell you that this kind of attention and efficiency is pretty rare these days :)

In fact, all I need is item title and author. These are, IMHO, the only info anyone would need in a list of favorites.

It would also be great if there was a way to integrate this list in the CB profile page.

Another question: How to get readers/viewers details? I've been searching all Joomla forums for months but in vain.

Flexi gives you the number of views for each item. I would like to click on "views" and see who and when. Similarly, I would like to have a link "readers" on the profile page to display a table with the following columns: viewer - title - date viewed (in other words, who read what when).

Sorry for flooding you with questions, but it is so rare that someone is actually providing USEFUL answers (not in this forum but in general) that I cannot resist the temptation :)

MANY THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP!!
