1. If you speak of the parameter "Maximum size" in the field configuration, then
as the popup description of the field says:

you can set the maximum size to zero to remove the restriction, the maximum size is of course limited by your web server configuration.

But then you said size "width",

2. if you speak of the dimensions of thumbnails then note that the original image is not changed.

3. If you want to make the large thumbnail have no limitation then set in it:
width: 10000 (or larger if you are sure)
height: 10000 (or larger if you are sure)
method: crop
