Read More button does not work

I used a default install and with the built in description field it shows the image button, the read more button, and the toggle editor. The other buttons work, but the readmore button does not insert the read more and its annoying to have to do it manually.

Can we fix this?

I can confirm, readmore-button does not work for me too (J1.5.15 / FC1.5beta5a standard-install). Does anybody know something about a workaround or a fix for this problem?

Hi devil,
my installation is online, with JCE. Syntax is correctly written in the source (editorframe in Joomlabackend). View item in frontend the readmore-tag is completly "cleaned up".
Sourcecode in frontend view
Code:
<div class="article-content"> <p> ... </p> <p> ... </p> </div>
Source in backend / editor
Code:
<div class="article-content"> <p> ... </p> <hr id="system-readmore" /> <p> ... </p> </div>

In Joomla itself the readmore only works in the Blog layout.
See: docs.joomla.org/Splitting_an_Article_int..._a_link_to_read_more
In other views/layouts it is apparently removed.

So what is the behavior in FLEXIcontent?
Does the Blog category template work with the ReadMore? Yes.

If FLEXIcontent behavior is consistent with Joomla itself, the ReadMore would work in the Blog template category view, and it would not work in the Default template regular category view.

Which brings up the question if readmore should work in a regular category view.
Or should there be a modified default template which does support readmore in a regular category view?

I cannot check this or test this right now while moving things off my dying laptop.
