How-to put an auto-increment field in a formular ?

Hi there,

I'm searching how possible it is to add a simple text field with an auto-increment function in a submission form.

The need is to provide, at each new item creation, a serial number in a special format (ex : mm-yyyy-XXXX where XXXX is the auto-increment field). This number will be automatically created each time I want to add a new item (at least when I push the 'save' button).

I'm new to joomla an flexicontent, and i thought that the standard joomla content plugins will do that but it's impossible to find the one.

So I thought it maybe was possible to do it whithin a flexicontent field, but don't know how.
I searched forums, web, etc... for a while and nothing pops up (except using another CCK but FlexiContent is the one that suits my needs).

I'm now desperate and need some community help
